#OIT. Only In Taiwan.
There are too many things here that make me grin and think, "Man, so #OIT." The parks (they look like mini rain forests and jungles at times) that are strewn about the city call out to you as you turn each corner.
Trotting down uneven stairwells makes me feel like I'm 10 again. Standing on rocks rooted in rushing streams brings about a peace I didn't even know I missed. Watching grandmas and grandpas that hold hands while walking in morning mist together completely unfurls this heart.
Innocence lives in the air here. Though there is much that is new, every time I walk through the streets here I feel as if I'm walking through scene after scene of what I remember Asia to have been like maybe in the early 90's. Remember when you couldn't wait to go down to that little market that sold pastels to color with? Remember when you'd run over to that little corner bakery for warm milk and bread run by a man that smiled warmly like your uncle and told his working son that you were his favorite neighborhood kid? I hope the innocence of places like this never get rushed away.
My spirit tells me it's both reassuring and renewing to know that places like this exist.
