We'd left the apartment thinking it'd be cold heading to Danshui for a day by the sea but man did we luck out. The sun was in good spirits and gifting us nearly 80 dancing degrees of blue skies. Perfect for walking. Danshui was well used for shipping and commerce back in the 19th century. Boats of all shapes and sizes sit lazily where the water has yet to come in.
Now it's known for its quaint waterfront estates, ferries that take you across the water to the Bali district for riverside biking and an oldtown walkway and fisherman's wharf lined with throwback arcades, street foods and in some places a boardwalk feel that takes you back to the 80's. We didn't get to bike around this time but I might just have to the next time I'm back.
